Our sleep center employs state of the art polysomnography monitoring systems powered by Phillips Respironics.  We offer both home sleep apnea testing and in-lab sleep testing.  Dr. Jalloul has extensive experience and expertise in treating adult sleep disorders such as Obstructive Sleep Apnea, Insomnia, Restless Leg Syndrome and Narcolepsy.   Our in-lab sleep studies provide Dr. Jalloul with the most complete evaluation of your sleep. We are accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM), the Gold Standard for patient care in the sleep medicine field. The facility is under 24 hour surveillance for your safety and an alarm system is always in place.

Sleep Apnea

Sleep Apnea is a serious sleep disorder that occurs when a person’s breathing is interrupted during sleep. People with untreated sleep apnea stop breathing repeatedly during their sleep. something hundreds of times. This means the brain and the rest of the body may not get enough oxygen.

Sleep Apnea Testing Process

You will spend a night in a private room at the sleep center. During the study, special sensors record the activity of your heart.
lungs and brain: the movement of your muscles: airflow from your nose and mouth: and the level of oxygen in your blood. In addition. your body movements are videotaped.

A technician watches the recording on monitors all night to observe you and make sure there are no problems with the equipment If you have moderate to severe sleep apnea during the night. the technician may provide a device called CPAP that keeps you are pressure open and helps you breathe.

The results are analyzed in detail and interpreted by Dr. Jalloul. The report will help the doctor to decide which treatment to use for your sleep disorder.
